What realistically are you doing to low the temperature?

What efficenciy is your driver board? I assume this is the SSC P7 that is rated at 900lumens, but after all the work, the heat, and the loss in the reflector/lens, it’s going to be much lower… unless you have seriously tried hard to get around all this, I am pretty sure people on Candle Power Forums have built more efficient units…

Though I am open to be proved wrong (maybe you are a user there?)

Where is the step how to make the dorcy flashlight with new led. Using the dorcy flashlight housing?

where do you get the led

every dorcy light I have bought was either utter garbage or pure crap. not the only crap garbage maker out there, just the biggest. dorcy if you’re reading this don’t get mad at me- just send me the money I spent on your crappy garbage lights or stop making them.

    “Briter?”

There’s got to be a heat issue with that. There’s no way leds that bright can operate cool on just a board.

For quick strobes or short runs, it may be cool, but if you have to use that for “hey, hold this light while I change my tire”, that leds gonna fry.

  7. humanentropy says:

how did you manage that? your link doesn’t work

i would say pick one up, less labor, about the same price. dealextreme is one great store to find these, read the reviews on the flashlights, some of the p7’s aren’t as great as others.

  15. djsmithy says:

    dealextreme ftw

  17. motorbiking says:

What is the Ah rating of the original driver, I’m wondering if you are actually producing 900 lumens? If the original is only 700mAh it might be closer to 200 Lumens,

    Just kidding !

Its led, so i thing it will last not a long time, but much more than a incandescent light …
